Preeclampsia is a multisystem disorder of unknown cause that is unique to human gestation, and is known to be characterized by abnormal vascular response to placentation, associated with increased systemic vascular resistance. Liver involvement as one of the main clinical severe features of preeclampsia, led us to examine a possible association between chronic liver diseases and preeclampsia.
