Abstract
EVIDENCE-BASED ANSWER Probably not. Over about a week, bromocriptine does not decrease percent body fat or body weight compared with placebo (SOR: C, small placebo-controlled crossover study). Bromocriptine is associated with decreased percent body fat and body weight after 6 weeks, but no difference is found at 6 to 8 months (SOR: C, small case series).
