Abstract

ABSTRACT This study analyses the impact of oil prices on individual incomes, using the Russia Longitudinal Monitoring Survey for the years 2009–2015, a period, when oil prices varied substantially. The results suggest that there is a significant negative impact of oil prices on individual incomes in Russia, not only for inhabitants of oil-rich regions but also for those having no access to these resources. Thus, the Russian population as a whole does not enjoy any benefit from oil revenues.
