Abstract

Irritability is a common reason for mental health evaluation and treatment in children and youth. Irritability manifests in many ways, is associated with a wide range of internalizing and externalizing psychopathology, and may predict significant impairment including suicidal risk. Using data from 4 recent studies, the Symposium addresses critical but unresolved questions about the nature of irritability.
