Abstract
Let χ be a primitive quadratic residue class character with conductor f. It is shown that the generalized Bernoulli polynomials B χ n ( x) and the related polynomials B χ n ( x) − B χ n (0), divided by obvious factors, are irreducible over the rationals under certain conditions on f and n.
