Abstract

This chapter assesses archaeological and documentary evidence on house forms used at Iroquois sites occupied between 1677 and 1754 using the classificatory scheme presented in Chapter 8. To be comprehensive, it incorporates housing information from extra-regional Iroquois satellite communities outside the homeland, including Bead Hill, Conestoga, Fort Frontenac, and mission communities in the St. Lawrence River valley.
