Abstract
The content of folklore and its relation with anthropology has always been an important matter of debate in Turkey. Folklorists who work on this issue directly or indirectly have expressed their approaches and have tried them to carry out in their studies. Folklore Studies in Faculty of Languages and History-Geography where included Institute of Anthropological Sciences and was attempted the Department of Folklore admit of following to this issue. In this essay, it is summarized the emergence of anthropology in Turkey, examined approaches of Nermin Erdentug, Pertev Naili Boratav, Sedat Veyis Ornek and Orhan Acipayamli to folklore, anthropology, ethnology and ethnography. At last, it will be discussed continuity of their folkloric views.
