Abstract

We have given here a list of Irishmen who, because of religious reasons, left their country, came to the continent and studied at the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague at the end of the seventeenth century and in the eighteenth century. Some of them did not end their studies and went to other universities abroad, but some remained in Bohemia, or the Austro-Hungarian Empire. They mostly got amalgamated with the local population, some families died out both in the male and female line, but the descendants of some of them lived until the present time.
