Abstract
Endothelial keratoplasty is a widely accepted treatment for corneal endothelial failure. These patients may also have co-existing glaucoma, having had previous glaucoma filtration surgery. Iris incarceration into the sclerostomy is a potential complication resulting in post-operative loss of intraocular pressure (IOP) control. We describe a patient with post-operative iris incarceration following a Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty with prior trabeculectomy, and detail a technique to avoid this complication.
