Abstract
A methanolic extract of the dried aerial parts of Pedicularis condensata afforded five iridoids, aucubin, 8-epiloganin, mussaenoside, shanzhiside methyl ester, and a new iridoid, 6-O-acetylaucubin. Additionally two known phenylpropanoid glycosides, verbascoside (= acteoside) and echinacoside, have been isolated. Their structures were established on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic studies.
