Ausgezeichnete Ausbeuten und hohe Enantioselektivitäten zeichnen die Titelreaktion aus (siehe Schema; cod=1,5-Cyclooctadien, DBU=1,8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-en). Als Produkte entstehen wichtige chirale Bausteine für die Synthese von biologisch aktiven Verbindungen wie den Alkaloiden.
