Abstract The concept of receivables in Ireland is more readily understood to mean book debts. In Farrell v Equity Bank Ltd, Lynch J in the High Court stated: It is this meaning as set out in Halsbury’s Laws of England which is generally regarded in Ireland as applying to book debts or receivables.
