Abstract
Samples belonging to the x Fe 2 O 3 · (100 - x) [3 B 2 O 3 · KCl ] glass system with 0 ≤ x ≤ 20 mol% were investigated by IR spectroscopy in order to obtain information about the influence of Fe 2 O 3 on the local order in the 3B 2 O 3 · KCl glass matrix. The interpretation of the obtained vibrational spectra revealed the presence and the dependence of the local structural units in glasses studied by the Fe 2 O 3 content.
