IR Spectroscopy of Charged Species in Supercritical Fluid Solution and in Polymer Films; the Protonation of [(η 5-C 5Me 5)lr(CO) 2] by HCI

Abstract

Reaction of [Cp * lr(CO) 2 ] (Cp * =η 5 -C 5 Me 5 ) with gaseous HCl leads to formation of the protonated ion, [Cp * lr(CO) 2 H] + , both in supercritical xenon solution and in a low density polyethylene film.
