Abstract

By screen printing the potassium titanate microrod onto the PP/PET interlocking knit fabric, an IR selectively reflecting fabric has been developed. Because the microrod coating increases the reflectivity toward solar heat, the fabric offers good solar heat shielding ability. Additionally, due to its exceptional mid-IR transparency and thermal conductivity, it has a high heat loss rate. It retains its ability to block solar heat when wetted by sweat, while at the same time, its mesh structure enables effective evaporative cooling. Additionally, it is extremely flexible, UV-protective, air-permeable, sweat-wicking, and laundry and abrasion resistant. This makes it a great fabric for summertime outdoor clothing.
