Abstract

Dissociation of Br(CF 2) 4COI molecules resulting from infrared multiple-photon excitation (IR-MPE) by the second (via CO stretch) and the first (via skeleton vibrations) harmonics of TEA CO 2 laser was studied. It was found that in the two cases of IR-MPE, dissociation occurs via two distinct channels with the formation of C 2F 4 and Br(CF 2) 4I molecules as final products. At the same time, the relative ratio of these final products was found to depend on the channel of molecular excitation.
