Abstract
Bonds between octanoic acid and oxyethylene dodecyl ethers with varying numbers of oxyethylene ether groups were investigated by IR and NMR. The results gave evidence of the formation of a complex containing 2 acids and 1 tetraoxyethylene dodecyl ether and showed the influence of low percentages of added acid on the conformation of the ether.
