Abstract

In this paper, after analysis of the relationship between third-party logistics (TPL) and the flow of information, logistics, capital as well as business among the node enterprises in supply chain, we have proposed a two-hub information system model. TPL serves as the hub of logistics information in the whole supply chain while the core enterprises as a hub of business and capital flow information. The TPL whole supply chain logistics information system model based on the Internet of Things (IoT) is introduced. In this model, the information of business and capital flow among core enterprises works as the driving force of supply chain, and application of IoT technology such as RFID, sensor, mobile Internet, is integrated to upgrade existing logistics information system to become the nerve system of TPL as well as a logistics hub for all nodes in the whole supply chain enterprises.
