Abstract

Sounding rockets are essential for scientific and technological development. They are a relatively brief and not-so-expensive form of access to space. Rocket avionics is very complex and has many interfaces with ground crews before launch. Simplifying data exchange and making it more reliable and efficient is always very important. In this work, an IOT-based telemetry system for sounding rockets is proposed. Such architecture is expected to make data exchange and launch operation more efficient. The adaptations to achieve this goal are presented as well as the results of a proof of concept carried out with Heltec's LoRa 32 radio platform. The preliminary results of this work showed that an IoT-based telemetry can be used in sounding rocket projects, being able to successfully transmit and receive data.
