Abstract
This paper proposes a revolutionary method for saving electricity in households by employing a prepaid energy recharge plan. The power supply is cut off for the users who haven't recharged yet by using IOT based prepaid meter. The balance amount is monitored and the current consumption is shown in the IOT app periodically for each time the amount is reduced. The alert messages are sent to our mobiles or tablets which will help the user to check the balance and hence reducing the delay in bill payments. By this method, stress on manual methods is reduced and also able to make the users pay their electricity bills regularly.
