Abstract

Water is among the most fundamental need for all living things, including humans, animals, and plants. However, water shortage is one of the main issues faced by major cities of the globe. In Bangladesh, due to the lack of a proper water management system, water overflow from the overhead tanks in the houses, commercial buildings, educational institutions, and agricultural fields increases the percentage of water waste. This problem has been recognized as a significant cause of water waste and wastage of electricity. It is an anachronism in this era of technology to monitor reservoir continuously and switch the pump manually by a person. Therefore to avoid such wastages, installing an automatic water level controller becomes a vital feature that further reduces human involvement. This study presented an IoT-based automatic water level management that uses RF communication technology, Ultrasonic sensors, and a water level sensor. In this research, the level of water in the reserve tank and roof tank is monitored, and at the same time, the water pump is also controlled automatically depending on the current water level using an ultrasonic sensor and water level sensor. Thus, our device works as a water level monitor and automated water pump controller. So, implementing an IoTbased real-time water level management will help us minimize water waste, save power, and, most importantly, minimize human participation in this process.
