Abstract

Communication gap between the teachers and students is one of the prevailing factors for lower grades of students. There are instances where students are unaware of assignment deadlines and tests which lead to demeaning scores. To bridge this gap, Internet of Things (IOT) can be used to provide academic related information to students. This functionality would help in achieving the goal of zero verbal communication between student and teacher. The teacher can upload assignments and deadlines which will be retrieved by the mobile phone when the student comes in the range of the device. To accomplish this goal, we used Beacon technology which allows Mobile Applications to listen for signals from beacons in the physical world and react accordingly. Strategic and creative location-based technology implementation has great potential to decrease the hassles faced by a student. We aim at using IOT in the field of education to abridge the barriers of communication in the student-teacher relationship.
