Abstract
Sustainable development in the renewable energy sources (RESs) lead the way for an implementation of net zero energy (NZE) buildings. To meet the goal of NZE buildings there must be a supply balance for an equivalent demand of the load. The supply balance can be achieved by integrating the major RESs in to the central grid. The objective of this paper is to integrate the wind and solar RESs into the utility to meet the demand and to accomplish NZE building concept. Further, the energy management control mechanism is devised in the cloud platform Thingspeak for enabling the remote control of RESs power integration based on the prevailing wind speed, irradiation, temperature and utility condition. Also, an actuation signals are transferred to the MATLAB Simulink where the RESs and their corresponding power conditioning circuits and controllers are deployed. The simulation work presented in this paper with the integration of MATLAB Simulink and the Thingspeak IoT data analytics platform validates the remote control and monitoring of RESs power integration and the NZE building concepts.
