Abstract

Emission spectra of HgCI(B2 Σ-X2 Σ) band system and atomic mercury lines have been observed and analyzed in the present studies during collisions of N+ /N+2 ions with HgCl2 molecule in the kinetic energy range of 100-1 000 eV (laboratory frame). The cross-sections for excitation of the most intense band of the HgCl (B2 Σ,, v' = 0 — X2 Σ, v = 22) transition at 558 nm were determined at different kinetic energies of the projectile ions.
