Abstract

Using the time-dependent Hartree-Fock method, the CO ionization in intense femtosecond laser pulses at infrared wavelengths has been investigated. We have considered a laser intensity domain (4 × 1013–1.4 × 1014 W/cm2) in which the tunneling ionization mechanism plays an important role in the intense field ionization of CO. A dominant contribution of the highest occupied molecular orbital was found.
