Abstract
Ionization of atomic oxygen by impact of protons and alpha particles is studied in intermediate and high energy regions. The target oxygen atom is treated as having only one active electron and the interaction of the active electron with the target core and the passive electron(s) is described by a model potential. The continuum state wave function is represented by the product of two Coulomb wave functions, which considers the distortion due to the projectile and the residual target core nearly on equal footing
