Abstract

Stimulated Raman spectroscopy (SRS) has been proven to be a viable tool for ultra-high-resolution gas-phase spectroscopy. In this paper we report a new approach to stimulated Raman spectroscopy that significantly increases sensitivity while maintaining the high spectral resolving power of SRS. The enhanced sensitivity of this new technique is obtained by combining highly sensitive resonant laser ionization methods with stimulated Raman excitation.
