Abstract

Ionisation of hydrogen atoms in ground and metastable 2s states byimpact of protons and antiprotons has been studied at collisionenergies varying from 10 to 1566keV/amu. Total and double differentialcross sections are calculated employing a final continuum state wavefunction which incorporates distortion due to the Coulomb fields ofboth the projectile and the target nuclei. The present calculatedresults are compared with the existing experimental findings as wellas other theoretical predictions.
