Abstract
The dissipation of ionic fluctuations in concentration is studied using non-equilibrium thermodynamics. A formula for calculating the entropy production as a function of the initial relaxation time, τ 0, ion concentration c a, and relative amplitude of the corresponding ionic fluctuation, ϵ = δC a C a , is developed. The variations of entropy are also calculated for different values of these parameters.
