Abstract

The bilateral section of parasympathetic system in silver eel induces an increase of Na+ and K+ excretion without changes of Na/K value. This is observed both in tap or salt water treated subjects. It is suggested that the vagus nerve has no effect on electrolyte flux in this euryhaline species.
