Abstract

Summary form only given. The dispersion properties of slow electromagnetic surface waves propagating across the external steady magnetic field on the harmonics of ion cyclotron frequency in planar metallic waveguides with dielectric coating are studied. The plasma particles are described by the kinetic Vlasov-Boltzsman equation. The problem is solved analytically by the Fourier method and dispersion equation is studied numerically. Effect of the dielectric permeability of the dielectric coating, of the plasma layer thickness and of the external constant magnetic field value B/spl I.oarr//sub 0/ the dispersion properties of ion surface cyclotron waves (SCW) is investigated in the case when B/spl I.oarr//sub 0/ is perpendicular to the plasma boundary.
