Abstract

Abstract The role of electric polarization induced on the surrounding ions by point defects in metals is investigated. It is shown to be of paramount importance in determining electrical resistivities due to substitutional impurities in noble-metal alloys, as well as vacancy resistivities in Ba, Cd and Sn.
