Abstract

1. Only the most low-silica zeolites have high selectivity of exchange of Na+ and K+ ions in zeolites with Sr2+ ions from aqueous solutions of strontium salts. 2. Of the zeolites with a low Si/Al ratio, only synthetic K-chabazite K-G(13) and its ion-exchange Na form remain highly efficient absorbents of trace amounts of strontium from a concentrated NaCl solution, which is explained by the low energy of bonding of Na+ cations from the zeolite framework.
