Abstract

Abstract The exchange of Mn2+, Co2+, and Ni2+ in zeolites X and Y has been studied. At 25 °C, these metal ions cannot replace sodium ions present in the network of smaller cavities of both the zeolites. It is possible to describe the ion exchange data by a mathematical equation. The mathematical model assumes two groups of active sites in the supercages.
