Abstract

We studied the effect of titanium dioxide (TiO2)nanoparticles (NPs)on ion conductivity of Na+ ion-conducting nanocomposite solid polymer electrolyte (NCSPE) composed of polymers poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), sodium metaperiodate (NaIO4)at concentration 10 wt%, and with added TiO2NPs of average size ∼ 10 nm at concentration from 1 wt% to 5 wt%. The electrical response of thin films (150μm) of PEO/PVP/NaIO4/TiO2 was characterized by employing the complex electrical impedance spectroscopy. The changes in ion-conducting properties of the examined NCSPEs induced from the included TiO2 NPs, were explained.
