Abstract

Optical, electrical and photoelectric properties of amorphous AgAsS have been studied. The material possesses an optical band-gap of 2 eV, while the electrical conductivity is governed by Ag+ ionic motion. Conventional photoconduction does not appear, but photovoltaic effects are detected. The material exhibits a photoinduced chemical modification phenomenon, which can be accounted for by assuming coupled ion-hole motions.
