Abstract

A multicomponent plasma consisting of two-ion species having different mass and temperature is considered. Linear and non-linear dispersion relations have been derived. These are used to study the effect of turbulent fluctuations on the plasma resistivity. Results have been applied to the cases of a hydrogen-helium and a hydrogen-argon mixture. It is seen that the resistivity increases or decreases significantly with the addition of a light ion impurity depending upon temperature and mass ratio.
