Abstract

The article contains the developed technique of iodometric solidphase spectrophotometric determination of nitrite in natural water using polyurethane foam as a sorbent. The redox reaction between nitrite and iodide, sorption of formed iodine by polyurethane foam and its detection on the surface of the sorbent lie behind the technique. Linearity of the graduation graph is observed until the nitrite concentration up to 0.5 mg/dm3, the detection limit is 0.006 mg/dm3 at the sample volume 10 cm3.
