Abstract

Children’s Museum (BCM) has developed an innovative program in partnership with the Boston Housing Authority to bring museum-style programming about healthful lifestyles to groups from urban, minority, lowincome populations. 6 The program has 2 goals: to further the role for children’s museums in developing fun and effective ways to learn about health; and to create connections between the museum and an audience that is both affected by health disparities and typically underserved by cultural institutions. The authors are unaware of any similar programs by other museums. The purpose of this preliminary study was to determine the acceptability and relevance of the program with participants.
