Abstract

Ni thin film were synthesized through the electrodeposition method from three different electrolytes. Furthermore, they were assessed as electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in 1 M NaOH. Herein, various electrodeposition parameters such as pH of the electrolytes, deposition potential, temperature, and the influence of the magnetic field were measured. We made a comparison between the different morphologies and different characteristics depending on the thin film electrodeposition process parameters. Moreover, we have studied the wettability changes of material in dependence from to the composition of the electrolyte and the applied external magnetic field. The deposition process was accomplished by using chronoamperometry technique. The measuring scanning electron microscope, and X-Ray diffraction were used to characterize the surface morphology and the crystalline structures of the fabricated films.
