Abstract
The Liquid Sunlight Alliance (LiSA), a project in the DOE Fuels from Sunlight Energy Innovation Hub, has as its mission the co-design of assemblies of microenvironments that function together to convert natural sunlight and components of air into liquid fuels. Drawing on lessons from natural photosynthetic systems, these assemblies couple multiple interacting components to convert CO2 and water into energy-dense chemical products. This talk will highlight recent progress by the team, including development of distinctive cascaded photo-driven systems, and the underlying science advances required to refine their performance.
