Abstract
This article contains a brief review of the autonomous and nonautonomous solitons supported by autonomous and nonautonomous nonlinear Schrödinger equations. Majority of the results reported here are theoretical. However, few important instances of experimental achievements have also been cited. The present review is expected to be useful and interesting to readers and young researchers.
