Abstract

We have recently developed a reagent-less approach to graphene nanoribbons exploiting the topochemical polymerization of 1,4-diarylbutadiynes to generate polydiacetylenes (PDAs), which are thermally converted to graphene nanoribbons with precise widths. The latest results on this project will be described, including the formation of nitrogen-doped graphene nanoribbons.
