Abstract
A memoir related to the discovery of optical soliton is presented with an intention of stimulating motivation of young scientists for creative works. Soliton is clearly a more desirable pulse for stable transmission of information in optical fiber medium. However, I would like to emphasize additional capability of a soliton pulse as information carrier without increasing thermodynamical entropy and invite the reader’s attention to possible relation to information processing in biological systems.
