Abstract

Toward macroscopic applications of exceptional optical properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), we reported in-plane complex refractive index spectra [1] of various single-chirality-enriched [2] SWCNTs films in which the SWCNTs are mostly oriented in two dimensions parallel to the film surface. However, in order to describe the anisotropic optical responses of such SWCNT films for incident light from all the directions, out-of-plane refractive index spectra are also required, in addition to the in-plane ones. We will report complete broadband complex refractive index spectra of single-chirality-enriched SWCNTs films for in-plane and out-of-plane optical responses. [1] T. Nishihara, A. Takakura, M.
