Abstract

ABSTRACT Using Chinese A-share listed companies from 2011–2021, we investigate the influence of investor attention on corporate greenwashing. The results indicate that investor attention significantly inhibits corporate greenwashing. Moreover, environmental regulation instruments and managers’ risk preferences enhance the inhibitory impact of investor attention on corporate greenwashing, which provides new insights into greenwashing governance.
