Abstract

The Enron Corporation of the USA negotiated with the Government of India a major power generation project that soon got embroiled in controversies relating to technical, economic, political and environmental considerations. The project was widely looked upon as a bell-wether for infrastructural investment in India. The article reviews the case from the perspective of stakeholder management and derives lessons for prospective investors targeting emerging economies.
