Abstract

SUMMARY An active suspension for a linear quarter - car road vehicle model using a PID structured controller is discussed here. The PID parameters are not optimized using the conventional methods but are based on stochastic optimal control methods. The main idea is to obtain a full feedback optimal LQG controller and then to constrain this controller to fit a PID structure using constrained feedback techniques. The overall performance of this active suspension is evaluated here.
