Abstract

Investigations were carried out on the isohemagglutinating (anti-AB) and heterohemagglutinating (anti-rat erythrocyte) capacity of the adult human serum in terms of the blood group of the ABO system and of sex. 1. 1. The isohemagglutinating (anti-AB) capacity appears in both sexes in the following order: B(III) < A(II) < O(I) . 2. 2. The heterohemagglutinating (anti-rat erythrocyte) capacity appears in both sexes in the following order: B(III)< AB(IV) < O(I) < A(II) . 3. 3. Both the isohemagglutinating and the heterohemagglutinating capacity are significantly higher in women than in men, with all the main blood groups of the ABO system.
