Abstract

A new configuration of the mutually pumped phase conjugation (MPPC) was demonstrated experimentally in Ce-doped BaTiO3 crystal by using two nanosecond pulsed beams. This new MPPC was referred to as a rainbow shaped MPPC. We investigated the formation process of MPPC reflections. The variation of the phase conjugate reflectivity with the incident angle and the intensity-dependent build-up time of phase conjugation were measured. The maximum reflectivity was found to be about 24% for two incident beams of an equal intensity.
